As the New Year approaches, we would like to recommend the following New Year’s resolution: Read the entire Bible in 2025. To facilitate this, there is an app for all smart phones called “Bible in One Year”.
The app will work with any iPhone or Android smart phone. If you do not have a smart phone or just prefer email, you may also subscribe to receive a daily email with that day’s reading and commentary.
“Bible in One Year” is a daily Bible reading plan which takes you through the whole Bible in 365 days. It is ideal for anyone who is looking for an easy and effective way to read and understand the Bible.
Please note, as of December 13, 2023, “Bible in One Year” has had a small makeover and is now called The Bible with Nicky and Pippa Gumbel. However, the app and bible readings/commentary are exactly the same.
Each day includes passages from a Psalm or Proverb, the New Testament and the Old Testament along with a daily commentary from Nicky and Pippa Gumbel, leaders of Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) Church in London and pioneers of Alpha. “Bible in One Year” will encourage you to engage more closely with the Bible, to apply its teachings to everyday life and to grow in your relationship with Jesus.
You can follow along by reading the text or listening to the audio commentary and you can choose the version that best suits your lifestyle; the Classic version (25 minutes/day), or a shorter Express or Youth version (both around 15 minutes/day).
This is an easy and effective way to manage your daily devotions. Just spend a few minutes each day following the app or daily email and by the end of 2025 you will have read the entire bible and will get some great insights along the way.
