DeBows UMC will observe Good Friday with a Tenebrae Service on April 18 at 10:00 AM. Everyone is welcome to join us for this very meaningful and inspirational time of worship.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. Lent is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. It is a season of repentance and preparation for the coming of Easter and a time of self-examination and reflection.
Ash Wednesday Observances:
Sunday, December 1, 2024 is the First Sunday of Advent.
Advent is a four-week season dedicated to reflective preparation for the arrival, “advent”, of Jesus’ birth at Christmas time as well and Christ’s expected return in the Second Coming. During this important season in the church calendar, each week of Advent focuses on a different theme – hope, peace, joy, and love.
Please join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 9 AM.
NOTE: On this day, the church will also start using Year C of the Revised Common Lectionary. You can see more information about the Lectionary by clicking HERE.
